日本色彩協會（JAFCA）創立於1953年，為傳播色彩流行趨勢、推廣色彩教育、提供色彩諮詢等活動的團體組織，同時也是國際流行色協會INTERCOLOR的日本代表。從2015年開始，JAFCA每年12月都會公布對明年的色彩預測。思及2024年人們已漸漸脫離疫情的緊繃狀態，回復正常生活，但卻仍感到焦慮與匆忙，需要溫暖的顏色補充失去的能量，因此這次它們選擇傳遞著溫和寧靜感受的「Hello Blue」作為明年度色彩，期許乾淨清爽的藍能夠給予人們繼續向前邁進的力量，進而開拓更多可能。

「Hello! Blue」也是地球的顏色，帶有和平的意象，更蘊含著「向世界打招呼！用明亮的藍色照亮這個世界。」的意思，為未來帶來明亮的光芒，充滿正面積極能量。JAFCA認為這也是一種淨化時代混亂和世間不滿的顏色，是一種歡迎新時代的明亮而溫柔的藍色，就像對著人們說「你好！」微笑著歡迎一樣。
