日本色彩協會（JAFCA）創立於1953年，為傳播色彩流行趨勢、推廣色彩教育、提供色彩諮詢等活動的團體組織，同時也是國際流行色協會INTERCOLOR的日本代表。每年，它們都會公布對明年的色彩預測，而它們此次選定了清晨日光般的溫暖黃色「Luminous Yellow」。

JAFCA認為，2022年人們深受疫情、戰爭及環境污染的影響的，渴望在逆境中振作，且在人手一機的時代，3C電子設備帶來的光線往往對視覺有強烈的刺激性，所以選擇了輕盈、柔和、平靜的淡暖黃「Luminous Yellow」，撫慰不安的心，讓人們充滿希望。
